Waterfront Remodel

December 07, 2016  /  Sam Shoemaker

Soon Seattle and Brooklyn may have more things in common than just coffee, beards, and gentrification. According to The Real Deal, the recent proposal for Bushwick Inlet Park located on the Williamsburg waterfront includes keeping the old fuel containers and adapting them for public use.  Much like the famed Gas Works Park in Seattle, the green space would feature and highlight the industrial past instead of simply attempting to wipe the slate clean for green space.  The old gas containers could be used as gardens, performance spaces, or even converted into large sculptures.  The plan is far from coming to fruition, but certainly off to an interesting start.
